It is indeed a Win 7 conflict problem with revit.

Untick this box - 'Enable desktop composition' in the performance options.

(Start, right-click on My Computer and Properties, Advanced System setting, Performance, Settings, Visual Effects Tab)

Worked for me.

"

nebularb's suggestion worked for me. Thanks.

Bringing this back from the dead. I had this issue as well and changing the performance setting worked fine. In fact it even fixed the previous selection issue when changing views. The issue that you select an object, go to a different view and you loose your selecton. Cntrl and left arrow was the fix but this fixes it 100%. Oh and the actually culprit to all the issues with Win 7 is the very last option. "Use visual styles on windows and buttons" This checkbox is what cause it all. Unforunately unchecking this is still custom so we still have to deal with the old Windows NT look.

I was having the same issue in Revit 2014 until I realized that if any of the views had a "View Template" assigned to them then you couldn't edit multiple drawings at the same time. In fact, if a view has a "View Template" assigned to it, you can't edit certain attributes of the view unless you actually select the view crop rectangle in the view itself.
