I am working in a finish schedule that was created by another person in Revit 2009 and have come across a particularly frustrating issue. There are multiple cells located through out the schedule that appear to be locked (in other words they show up but when you click in the cell you cannot edit the information). When you go to check the element properties of the object that has been scheduled the information is grayed out (aka locked) as well. Please help if you have any ideas what the issue might be... I am perplexed!! Thanks!

Likely cause is that the schedule has a "key schedule" associated with it. If you look for a "style" field you can choose from pre-defined styles. The fields associated with the 'style' automatically fill in the predefined values and they show up as greyed out. This is a feature of Revit and all databases and shows that your co-worker did it the correct way. This concept is a database concept called a 'look-up' schedule in the database world and is very powerful. If you don't understand it, then be sure to set the style to 'none' and the greyed out values will disappear but you will have to fill them in individually which is not the efficient database method of working.

"Key schedule" was the culprit. Thanks so much for your help!
