I have search many posts and just can't figure it out:

I have linked a Revit Arch 2010 model into my RST2010.  I do not have the ability to turn off (hide) any of the architects elements.  I can select the whole model, but not individual pieces.

Can you hide individual elements in a REvit Linked model?

Do you have the ability to always hide certain things in you r RST model....like trees?

Thanks.

Greg

Visibility/Graphics to turn off entire catagories (there is a tab for linked models). If you really need to shut off individual elements you can use tab to select the element, then do a hide by element. It only works in the view you do it in though, so you may have to repeat the process in a number of views. V/G would be the better method, but it's not always applicable.

TKennedy,

Thamks for the reply.  I had finally figured out the tab...setting it to custom...them returning to the model categories.  What I think I am looking for is a way to apply a view template to the linked model.

For example, you can set the VG to "by host view" or "by linked view" or "by custom".  I am looking for a way to set up a view the exact way I would like...then use that for other structural views.  I have come along way learning since yesturday and am actually happy with the customizability now.  I was hoping to have more.

Thanks you for your post...and thank you everyone who posted about this in easrlier threads.  The help was very valuable.

Linked model V/G settings are included in view templates.

I am getting happier and happier with the options actually available to me now.  I am still stumped on how to turn off or overide individual elements.

TKennedy, you mentioned:  "If you really need to shut off individual elements you can use tab to select the element, then do a hide by element".  I can do this in both ISO and Elevation views.  Can you think of a reason why I am unable to do this in a plan view?

Greg
