Hi there, i'm new to revit architecture, and want to know how to place lights in the interior of building? I just cant figure it out, and can't seem to find any other posts/sites on the net that address this.

Also, I'd like to know how to change the floor materials, like if I want wooden or tiled flooring indoors?

a light can be placed as a component.

Be aware there are ceiling based and wall bassed lights wich can only be placed on a ceiling or a wall.

It might be a good idea to check the revit help to make you understand how revit works.

to change the flooring material

1 select the floor,

2 click edit type in your properties dialog

3 click edit structure here you can change the materials and the structure of your floor

Can the ceiling mounted lights be mounted to the soffit (i.e the underside of the floor above it) or must I create a ceiling to place them? and which view do you have to be in to place a ceiling mounted light?
