Revit might not be able to do this, but I need information on what others think. I have 4 steel/concrete columns and I have beams running across. Workpoints are mid of columns. Everythiing looks fine, but say if I wanted to lower one of the columns -6" from 2nd level. Why does the beam not follow the top of column (its workpoint)? Do I have to manually enter a value for the start and end offset from the 2nd level to have the beam end move?

I think Revit can't automate this, and I would have to enter a value for the start and end offset, but I would like to know what you guys know. Thanks in advance.

i found out how to get the beam to follow the top of column.

Draw the beam with 3-d snapping turned on. then under the properties, structural, change the start and end attachment type from end elevation to distance.

this will allow the beam to follow the top of column. So if u make a change to the top of column, the beam will follow.

Here is the link:
