I search high and low and found no answer.
For a cost estimate i need to know the total amount (in SF) of walls being demolished. i have tried both wall schedules and material takeoffs...and i can't seem to isolate the demolished walls.
i am using the default revit phases.
anyone?

If you used a demolished phase, I think it should schedule but I have not had to do this.

You'll need to make a new Phase Filter under Manage > Phasing > Phases > Phase Filters where New and Existing Construction are set to 'Not Displayed'. I've called mine 'Show Demolished'. You can now use this as the Phase Filter for the Schedule making sure that the Phase is the one in which you done the demolition.

Creating a whole Phase for Demolition is not necessary for this issue.
