Revit Structure 2011

In previous versions if i had a detail cut on the model and needed to "slide" it up the page a foot or two, the view retained the 2D elements.  Now when i move the detail cut i get a nasty message telling me items will be deleted, the view is removed from its assigned location and all the 2D info is gone.

Keep in mind, i'm not talking about anything on the model - i would expect things out of the view range to come and go as a detail is moved.

Please tell me the Revit gods are aware of this problem and are fixing it or that there's a setting where i can change it back to its old behavior.  I can't use Revit this way - all the best planning in the world isn't going to change the fact that i'll get a job finished and someone will want to add a note or an element that is going to land smack-dab on top of an existing detail cut.  Hiding the cut in view and adding another with a "reference other detail" is a work-around, but is a terrible option.

I've attached 3 images... first is the foundation plan where the cut happens originally ~ second is the current detail ~ 3rd is the detail after being moved along the wall 12" north

I don't seem to have your problem.  How are you "moving" your section.  I tried both moving the section limits top and bottom and moving the cut vertically a specified distance.

BTW _ I'm in Architecture....

if i move my detail cut by picking a location then move it by a specified distance.  This gives me the error.

if i just grab the detail and move it willy-nilly within it's original view range ~ it retains the 2D info.

which made me think perhaps i had a different workplane set - but nope, not the solution there :-(

i am able to nudge the detail cuts to move them.

so far it's only picking two points to move the cut results in the error.....
