I am working on the remodel of an existing building in which we are removing the walls on the upper 2 floors of a 3 story elevator shaft and infilling the floor openings but leaving the existing CMU/gyp. shaft walls in place on the first floor. I have constructed the shaft in the existing phase using a curtainwall with curtain grids separating the different wall types on each floor. The problem is when I demolish the wall on the upper level it demos the wall on every level. Is there a way to specify which levels to demolish and which to leave in place on a curtainwall. Or should I have constructed the wall differently, possibly a stacked wall? Thanks for any suggestions
