Revit 2009 Arch Hi, How do you do a hip roof that has a skillion faces blending into it I have tried using the same method that you use to do a dutch gable but end up with holes all over the place and the ridge lines moving to middle of new position. Plan/elevation Files (done in 2D cad) attached Any help greatly appreceated. Thanks EssG Thanks

skillion - was a term I had not heard before. We just call them shed roofs. I usually model these as two seperate roofs and I would edit the sketch profile of the shed where it is over the main roof since this is an over-build condition. To do this, use a rectangle at first and finish the roof then join them. Now you can place a reference line at the junction to use and edit the shed roof.

Smile..shows the different names for construction in different countries (Australa for me) Back to the problem....I have done them as seperate roofs - Main roof first and then the "Shed". Part of the main roof has to be edited out (under the shed roof) and then part of the Shed has to be edited out where it joins the main roof...and no matter how I try to edit them I end up with holes and my ridge line over the front (where the two window are) moving to the center of that wall width (the new possion for the edited main roof) so I end up with Pic three instead of pic 1 front elevation It has me totally stumped Thanks
