The basic quesiton would be, what is the best way to show recesses in a slab? The next question relating to this is how to I show the recesses with slopes. I have to show 10" concrete slab floors in a condo with exterior inward balconies. The balcony slabs have to be recess/sloped for insulation and floor drains. I played with a void extrusion but it tells me that not all voids can cut this type. The solid extrusion somewhat works but I have to make it invisible to show properly. Not for sure if any of these two are the best option or not. Neither one seemed to address sloping recesses.

for a recess in slab I use the void tool, make sure it is cutting the slab and use the cut geometry.
with balconies I create another slab which is about 100 lower to get the step down needed.
I don't really like to show actual fall in slab, it's way too much work and you need to find the balance between 3D modelling and 2D drafting.
you could then put your finish floor i.e 50mm grout and 10mm tiles on top, if it's a simple slop to one edge just use the slop arrow.
or you could use the roof tool and create a concrete roof/floor with a few falls...
