Does anyone know how to add reinforcement to a custom slab thickening? I have created the slab in a generic floor based family loaded into my project however I am unable to add reinforcement to this element using the Rebar modelling tools. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

You can't add rebar because Revit does not see that family as anything other than a generic modle. You will need to change the family category for this famiyl from generic model to something structural...like structural foundations. You will aslo want to change the structural material type in that same dialog. You get to it from the Family Properties panel on the Creat tab of the ribbon interface....click on Category and Parameters to bring up the dialog and change them. HTH As a side note, I see you added the psycial material information, very well done! A lot of people overlook this on the structural side.
