Hi All,

i've got this questions, (1) i have used solid form / solid sweep and created a wall (sloping from one side) and i have a roof that is sloping over this wall (created also by solid form / solid sweep) and the wall is sticking out of the roof. now i want to know how to subtract (in cad terms) or slice or cut the wall that is extra. i know there is a way of removing by using void form / void extrusion, is that the only way. (2) i want to attach (like a normal wall & roof) these to entities (roof and wall) created by solid form / solid extrusion, is there a way. pls. help i'm working on this project right now.

thanks

JW

You create your wall and roof using the "Create in-place" right?

to answer the 1º - Yes, use the "Void" in the same category you create the wall and cut that portion you don't want..

2º because you create those element in a "in-place" family you CAN'T attach the wall to the roof like you can in regular walls/roofs, the only way is EDIT that in-place wall and create the shape to "Attach" to the roof...

thank you for the clarification, is there a chance to do this in revit 2010, i mean can you imagin how many void sweeps one would endup by the time a project is done....(every time there is a slope in roof and a funny shaped wall is projecting) cheers....do post or update with any work around that may or might pop up in near future...

by the way... why don't you put here some images (3D) to clarify your issue and we can have another perspective about that?

As you can see the sloping wall's in the front (both sides of glazing) as well as the rest of the walls, ofcourse i've used void sweep n got rid of the projections. pls. find attached.
