Ok... just out of curiosity... In plan view, why does the upper cabinet shows as dashed/hidden line? shouldn't be solid line? I don't work for architect so i wouldn't know. just curious.. that's all.

this is one area where architects vary be cause of preference. some like it solid, some like it dashed. but in drafting they teach that anything above the cut plane should be shown in a dashed line type. some don't like showing upper cabinets as dashed.

Thanks Coreed... I would have thought the other way. Use hidden lines if it is obscured by an object.

I was taught hidden (dashed) lines for hidden elements and phantom lines for objects above.

Beats me... all I know is that if you can't see the object in that specific view.. then use hidden lines. Phantom lines, as far as i know is used for alternate position of an object/parts.

i was taught to only use capital letters on architecture drawings. the computer has totally bastardized that standard. who knows? if you are the boss, you make the rules i guess.
