Hi - I'm a newbie.  I'm working the first Revit project in a small office.  I'm desperate for help with tags.

My plans are rotated 90' CLOCKWISE in my sheets, so the tags are all sideways.  I've tried rotating and toggling the vertical/horizontal option which makes the text upside down.

I was able to make a custom section head and room tag in which the text reads correctly by unchecking the "keep readable" option and rotating the text in the system family.

But that's not working on the door tags, elevation tags, interior elev tags, spot elevations, or keynotes.  I REALLY need to find a fix.  I've searched forums and google, but haven't found anything.  If I can't find a fix, I might have to do all the tags in Autocad (gasp)!

PS - I'm on 2008.

Two ways to rotate a view.... on sheets as you have done or in the view.

Activate the view then grab the view window and rotate that.

One rotates the view and all associate items on the sheet, the other, just rotates the view of the model but it is not rotating the model.  (Rotating the model is another thing.)

OMG!   T H A N K  Y O U!!!

I've been struggling with that for 2 months.  What a headache it's been.  I'm relieved that it's such a simple fix.

On the downside, consultant coordination will take some massaging since I've already issued DWG backgrounds of the not-rotated plan view.  But I think I can minimize confusion by keeping 2 copies of the plan view (one rotated and one not rotated) so I can continue to issue them the floor plan in the same orientation.  They won't want to change their plans since they've already started working.

But I can handle that part.

 thank you again.

Too bad you simply didn't look in your HELP searching with the word "rotate".  You would have found your answer ther.  Much can be learned from your Help.

I do use "help" all the time.  And Revit City and Google.  I was trying for several weeks to find the answer before posting on the forum.  I searched "rotate tags", how to make "custom tags" and so forth.

After you wrote i, I realized that my approach was wrong.  I thought I needed to make a custom tag.

You're response sounds a little sarcastic.  Maybe even annoyed?  I thought that this is what the forum is for.  I don't take it lightly that I had to post.  It was my last resort after doing a lot of searching on my own.

Thank you again.  I appreciate your response.

Sorry if I came off that way.  My posts are always meant to help and I usually do push the REVIT help. If someone says they looked first in the HELP, I give them the benefit of the doubt.  You did not state that you looked in the Help.

Your problem was your search word.  Both Revit Help and RevitCITY do best with simple, one word searches and you will see that I usually include that advice in my posts.
