I have over 200 project files with many of them containing typical details. I know I can detail these typical details in drafting views and import them into my multiple projects. But the problem arises when a change or modification needs to be made to these details. In Autocad we handled this with X-refs, so the change could be made in the xref file and then updated in every place it is used. I have noticed that updating the file of the drafting view does not update the files that it is imported into since there is no link between them. Does anyone know of a way to handle typical details on mulitple sheets that may need updating in the future?

I think most of us don't want automatic updates. I know I don't. Most of our projects don't linger on for years so changes in standard details rarely happen. I don't see a way to do this except by having a detail project with details already placed on sheets. Otherwise, I think the project manager has to manage the project and upload changes as appropriate. I just don't see a problem with this.
