I am trying to create a gable roof but with the pitch not in the center.  I have tried to use the slope defining line but no go.  If someone could please help I would be very greatful.

So either the two slopes are different or the eaves do not line up? For the latter of these, use the "Offset from roof base" parameter in the roof sketch for the particular edge you wish to be higher/lower.
