I have a wall base profile that I have swept onto my walls.  The problem is that in the elevation views, every single change in plain shows up as a line and it makes the base look muddy and very thick.  Is there a way to tell revit not to show any of the interior lines for the elevations, and to just show the base as a single, simple line?

I know that you *could* mask the unwanted lines inside the base in the elevation drawing, but there must be a less time consuming way to do this.

 thanks in advance.

Sweeps added to wall definitions are a real pain.  You can't turn them off in plan views.  That's why we only add them as a sweep later.

What I usually do for this is I first make a detail component of the actual moulding profile.  Then I start a new family profile (hosted).  I import the detail item into the profile item and then trace the detail item, ommitting excess lines.  For example, on a complex crown, I may use straight line segments instead of curves, or in your case, I would omit the notch in the base moulding.  This result makes the 3D model render quicker and fixes the issue you are having in elevation, but it also gives you the correct profile when you cut a section, because Revit will show the detail item that is imbedded in the family (in your case, the actual moulding).

You have to make sure to go into your view properties(VV), expand walls, then uncheck wall sweeps.  Otherwise you will get an extra line on the base moulding representing the stripped down profile outline.  I attached some screen shots of what it looks like as well as an RVT file for to see how I did it.   PS-the downside is if you do it this way, ALL your moulding needs to have a detail component or the ones without  a detail component will disappear when you uncheck the wall sweeps box.

However, as an added bonus, if you do a detail sheet showing all the moulding you specified, they will already be drawn as a detail component and can be inserted into a legend.

Had to cut back the RVT file (2 MB max).  Here it is
