Hello all, First to introduce myself. I work for a general contractor in Nebraska. We design/build mostly agricultural facilities in the Midwest. I first taught myself AutoCAD and have moved exclusively to Revit. Training myself on that turned into more than I thought, so I took some Avatech classes to help get me down the road. I have been prowling around Revit City since I started using Revit a while back. While I haven't had much to contribute yet, the forums and downloads were worth more to me than the classes I took. I would like to thank everyone for that. As I gain Revit skills, I will be glad to help people like me out. All that said, I have a problem that afforded me the priviledge to make my first post. We use concrete slats in agricultural facilities as a floor for the animals to walk on. For the life of me, I can't figure how to make these work. The extrusions and voids all are easy, but to base the object on a floor isn't correct because these slats "float" on beams. I have included pictures to visualize. The last problem, I am using Revit MEP 2010. If there is a way to place beams, I am not aware of it. We chose this flavor because we sell and construct a type of building that the heat/cool load stuff was a marketing tool. I am starting to think I made a big mistake. So I'm done writing my book. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know any more information you may need to be of assistance. Thank You,
