Some really cool new features are finally coming to Revit 2011, from what I can tell it's gonna be a lot of wish list items added like backgrounds in renderings, and grids on sheets for alignment, check it out:

A little better write up at: http://bimboom.blogspot.com/search/label/Blog-2011

Some really great new features.  Obviously, we can't get everything we want in one release but they have listened to us!

I seriously hope that is not one of those April Fools things. The changes look very promising.

WWHub, thanks for the link to my blog.  I've gotten over 500 visitors from this thread.

Now that Revit Architecture 2011 is available to the world for download, I hope you all enjoy the new features.

You can visit www.revit3d.com/download for direct downloads, resources and tutorials.  I found every link I could and put them all in one spot.

Tomorrow is the Autodesk Virtual Tour of all of their new products.  There's a contest to sign up attendees and I still need 280 people.  I'm giving away an iPad IF I can get 280 people registered by midnight.

Just go to www.revit3d.com/ipadgiveaway to register to win.  Thanks and I hope you all enjoy using Revit 2011!

Big fan of the new features! now if I could just figure out why my Dell t7500 is having FBX to 3ds Max issues I would be much happier. Everything works great on my alienware laptop

its great that new features have been added to this release, but is it really worth the money upgrading?...i for one did'nt sign up to the subscription service, as mybusiness is only small and the added cost every year would be stupid (around £600). Why can't autodesk simply bring out an upgrade version, with the added enhancements that simply adds to your current version?...

I also feel that we need more downloadable addons (ie the all-in-one door family is a brilliant idea and something which i will be downloading soon). What happened to plugins, like we could get for autocad all those years ago? (anyone remember express tools?)...or am i missing something here?

"do you knoq how to import new textures/materials in the Render Appearance Library (Revit 2011).

In Materials>Render appearence click on the Image (not the Big one) then you can apply a new image/texture for your material... don't forget the "Bump" too....
