hey guys,

i've been working on a contemporary design project that's supposed to be situated in space, specifically on planet mars. i want to render the project at night, but i'm having a bit of trouble:

1. the lights that i'm trying to add to the project are always offset from where i am placing them, automatically, and (seemingly) for no reason. i believe they are meant to be situated on the floor, but revit keeps suspending them in midair. [component - "uplight: strip, 48" 277V"]

2. no matter how many bright curse lights i put around my project to help illuminate it, the rendering is still really, really dark. can i adjust the exposure or mess with the settings somehow to help make the buildings show up better? i mean, i've seen renderings that use similar lights in the pitch black and the light up the picture!

any help at all concerning how to affectively render at night would be super helpful - i've never quite tried anything like this before.

thanks! - peter

Ok, i never render nothing like this, in MARS? no, only in Earth, BUT about the first Q., when you pick in the light and go to the properties you gonna see an "Offset Level" parameter where you can control the position of the light, about the second Q., you must increase the Wattage of the Lamps, something like this : 100W to 10,000W, try it.... and after the render you have the "Adjust Exposure" where you can control (more or less) the Brightness, color, shadows and so one....

I Hope and I Wish to LEARN  more, and more, and more.... REVIT

i love night scene rendering in revit, .. Cryingthough it will take u hours of time to finish it) so i am slowly shifting into vray right now..coz rendering TIME in revit is INSANE..hehe but anyways..try to put some STUDIO LIGHTS somewhere..that's wat i always do to brighten up my scene..and adjusting the exposure after..also check out my galery..i used lots of studio lights in some of my rendering.

Rollie,

What do you mean by "Studio Lights"?

We used to use studio lights alot with accurender.  These are much like you would do with photography.  The existing space lighting is just not adequate for a good image so you add lighting from behind the camera.  These studio lights are just bare light sources .... think about a photography studio....

These really help with ceilings because normal lighting will not bounce enough to illuminate the ceiling.
