Hello.  I am new to Revit and am very appreciative of this forum.  My issue is that I am not able to see the floorplan underlay when I go to the 3d view.  The plan is visible for modeling in 2D, but when I switch to 3D, the plan underlay disappears.  Do I need to have something turned on to view plan in 3d? Do I need to select something when I import the CAD plans? Thank you for your help.

Are you talking about a 2D plan in CAD you just import to your project and you only can see that plan in one view? if so, when you insert the cad file, be sure you don't have the "Current View Only" ON

There is no underlay in 3D views properties, this only applies in floor plan views. If I understood your question correctly you should go to the following.... Visibility/Graphics Overrides for 3D views (VV)â–ºImported Categories.... and turn on your plan that you imported from CAD.
