I have come up short in my attempt to nest a generic annotation label into a detail component.

What I am ultimatley trying to do is have a symbol where the line work can 'flex' without typing specific distances in the instants properties.

As far as I can tell the linework in a generic annotation family can be adjusted per instance by its properties but not flexed like a detal component. This is the only reason why I am going about it this way

I have searched and come up empty. Does anyone have any suggestions or know what I might be missing?

Hi Oak3s,

Could you perhaps post an image of what youre trying to achieve? See attached for one possible solution, with a scale parameter to convert the page-relative generic annotation length into the view relative detail component length.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the example but that isnt quite what I am looking for. What seems to be my problem is that when I nest an annotation family into a detail component I cant get the label to be something I can edit in the instance properties.

Here's a dummy callout head. Is that the intent?

(set up for A3 and A4 output)

This is the intent but without needing to add a leader. The problem I am having with adding a leader is I cant get it to attach where I want (incramental 45).
