So...I new at completely making my own topo surface and am having trouble. I am doing a project with a large house on a lot with landscaping. The house sits atop a flat area with a retaining wall at the back down to the gardens. i was able to make the top ground level, but can not figure out how to make the topo surface change elevation. So far i have tryed making another topo surface under the first one but i could not get the land to grade from one level to the other using the boundaries i wanted to keep. Then i watched some videos on line that said something about Ref. Planes, the problem is that the button is greyed out and i cant make any reference planes. How do i make the land change levels, i think i can do it with the ref. planes but i cant click on it. Thanks

If you click on your topo and press edit surface all the points will appear, if you click on a point a box will appear in your status bar which you can input an elevational figure in, it's preset on 0, so just type in the value and it'll lift that point to that height. The use add points to place enough to make your site look correct and give them their correct elevations
