Is it possible to tell doors to always be inserted 4" from an adjacent wall? Right now we are inserting a door and then moving it to the correct location. We have hundereds of doors and they are all located 4" from perpendicular walls. Any advice to make this easier would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think the only advice I have is that when you place your door, you can grab the temporary dimension grip and move it to the interseting wall then set your dimension.

To accomplish this, I add a reference plane to the door family that serves as an alignment point inside the project. Take a llok at the attached door family for a quick example. The reference plane is controlled by a parameter called "Hinge Side Offset" I set it by default to 4", but the beauty is it can be changed on a type basis. I use the "align" tool in the project to align and lock the door to the adjacent wall. I place the doors well away from the intended location and then do the align command. Not a one pick operation during door placement, but it does give the advantage that the door is now going to move in lock step with the wall if the wall moves. HTH
