I am applying a shake fill pattern and for some reason it is coming in upside down. What would cause that and how do I fix it? Regards, Darrin

so what did you do to fix this? I am having an issue with fill pattern orientation (align w. element), perhaps your resolution might help me ...
I've tried Drafting and Model patterns, I've tried all 3 options in the pattern orientation, but I cannot seem to get this pattern to align with element.
What did you do to correct your issue?

Model patters can be rotated and when used with a material tahat has a pattern, they will match. I'm sure that the previous poster had a material with an assigned model pattern which he rotated.

Thanks WW but I am dealing with a Glu-Lam material for my beams. There are 'several'. Will I have to manage them individually? That's what I thought the 'align w element' option was for ...

Aligned works with items like coarse fill for walls. I have never found it to work with detail elements.

no, not a detail element. I have a modle with glu-lam beams. I have imported these from the revit library for use in the model. for the sake of graphical clarity, I applied a surface pattern (horizontal lines at 2") so that the beams will show in the interior elevations and rcp.
However if the beam is oriented/rotated, the hatch pattern remains the same and does not align the the beam (element). All this is in the model (3D) and not a detail (2D).
