I am brand new to Revit - been playing with it for a couple weeks - Arch 2010 version. I am having a problem with columns. I am placing a canopy in front of my building, and when I attach the columns to the beams above, the columns are suddenly not visible on the floor plan. Also it causes the columns to show as hidden lines in elevation views. I have tried adjusting the view range and other view properties without success. They view perfect in the 3d view. Is there a setting I'm missing or is this some crazy autodesk fluke?

I had a similar problem with a column that attached itself to a floor, other columns around it were all visible but this one would disappear, I tried detaching the column from everything but it still wouldn't show up in plan only 3D. I couldn't use linework to get it to display either... Try copying the column & then deleting the orginal, & moving the copy back... This made mine show up, butI still have no idea why it disappeared in the first place...
