Presently, I am trying to create a curtain wall for my project that is made of a specific type of wire mesh, Lamelle from GKD Metal Fabris: I've made the curtain wall panel, but it in incredibly processor intensive, and that's only a single panel, I haven't even tried putting it to a whole curtain wall yet. Is there a default material in revit like this, or a place I can download one? That would help me out immensely Thanks in advance.

As you have found out, you don't want to do this as a solid with void holes.... Use a material. If they have an image of their material, you might be able to make your own pattern. Read some of the links below and if not there, search the forums.

I need it to have transparency and glow properties, so a simple image won't work. How do I create a material that has holes in it?

If you have that image in JPG or PNG, then open the image in Photoshop and create a new one BUT in Alpha channel, with this you can use that "Alpha Channel" image in "Bump" parameter to create the effect you want... Try and say something...

Wow ... we try to help and you disregard our answer .... As I said ... in the post below, it suggests you look it the materials - under metals! Look at "Chrome Satin Screen" You can change the hole type.

I am trying to do that same thing but for some reason I don't seem to have "Chrome Satin Screen" in my materials list... I am using Revit Architecture 2012. Any help would be greatly appreciated on how to go about this.

There are several different ones in 12.... Keep looking
You can use a bitmap for the holes - custom - or use one of the standard patters but with the size you specify.

WWHub.
Please excuse me replying to a 2 yr old thread, however I am trying to achieve the same result as discussed in this thread. I have searched all the materials that are standard with the program and am unable to find any that provide this type of mesh effect that is reflected in the image you provided.
I am working on revit 2014 and I can't imagine that they would exculde this content. Is there any place that I can easily download this material or an easy way to custom create.
Thanks.
