I'm exporting a floor plan from Revit to CAD. I have set the lineweight export settings "8-grey", even the cut lines. When I open the CAD file the door and window blocks have an overridden yellow line weight for the cut lines. The only way I have found to edit this is open every door and window and edit the block in CAD. There has to be a simpler way. Can someone please help. I'm working in 09 Revit.

Go to: File>Import/Export Settings>Export Layers DWG/DGN In the dialog you can set the CAD layers for each Revit Category and Sub-Category. The Export by default is set to AIA standards. Save your over-rides to a firm specific file and use for all future exports. HTH

In the Revit Export Settings I've set everything (category and sub category) to 8, but it's still importing with a layer override of yellow for the cut lines (door panel, window frame, and window glass). . I'm wondering if it's a CAD thing that I need to edit, but I can't figure out a simple way to chage it to not override in CAD. The only way I can change it is by opening each block seperatly and telling it to be "by layer". Since I have 100+ windows and doors that way isn't an option.

Are you setting the "Cut" categories to the color you want? Every Revit object exports to CAD via a "Projection" and "Cut" style. The Cuts are the 3rd and 4th columns over in the dialog box.

i think the default export is red and green for doors...not 100%. Aside from what Tom said, I would also check what your "layers and properties pulldown" is set to in the export options. You said that the CAD file has a yellow override on the doors and windows and that pulldown is what deals with any type of overrides in the model.

Thanks for the help! It was the layers and properties. There was a override. I changed it to "No overrides". Thanks again you made my day a little better
