Sheesh... what a crappy statement.

But with these economic times (CRAP im tired of that phrase Frustrated ) a lot of us are hearing it from friends and employers.

Laid off, fired, job disappeared with the business?  Feel free to confess, vent, or whatever... this IS a studio thread and we ARE a community.... just natural to share and support each other in times of productivity and times of crisis.

Soooo, with that being said... I guess I'll start:

I'm getting the ax now.

It's just a small, family business, but I'm sacrificing to help keep things afloat.

What's next??  Well, we crunched numbers, and think that if we take our kiddo out of private school, we can save enough and I can spend some REAL quality with my little guy.  It is testing our faith and opening new horizons.  I think we can keep the house we just built. Confused

I will try to keep my clients on the side, but it's not enough to make up the difference.  If worse comes to worse, I will have to quit college and find a good ol' fashioned 9-5 somewhere or flip burgers or something... yippie.  Rolling Eyes

I may be some handle on a forum, but I'm real and have real ups and downs... how about you??

Well, bummer. I know exactly how that goes, I heard the same thing about 18 months ago. It's worked out ok for me though, I'm sure it'll work out for you too.

I second the email suggestion, this is a new login because I forgot my pass and couldn't get into tkennedy@company.com. Bummer.

It is a tough time for everyone. Keep your head up, because you need to see the horizon ahead. Making lemonade out of lemons is what a lot of people are doing right now. A lot of sacrifices are being made. Think smart. Think ahead. Play it day by day, to the best that you can, and I promise things will get better. Look at it as a new avenue of opportunity. Best of luck.

We are definitely looking at it this way.  I think the time I'm going to be spending with my kid is going ot show me something a little better in life.  Smile

If you are good at running Revit go see electrical and mechanical contractors in your area you might be able to get an entry level position helping them coordinate with other firms and AE using the program. Keep an open mind and if you don't know something just say you'll need to research an answer. Rule number one waste runs downhill.
