I'm trying to make a beam move according to the hight of another beam. (Steel IPE) Is there a way to make a length-paramter pick a length from a parameter in another family? (I've got two beams on top of each other, with a small opening between. When i change the type of the top one (i.e. from a beam with hight d=100 to another with d=140, I want the lower beam to move 40 mm down...) Thnx!

A nested family can read parameters passed by the host family but no family can read information from the model. We would like doors to know how thick the wall is that they are placed in but they can't.
