I AM TRYING TO CREATE A SCHEDULE OF AREAS FOR THE WHOLE SITE, INCLUDING OUTDOOR AREAS, THAT LOOKS LIKE THE ONE ATTACHED. PROBLEM: HOW DO YOU TALLY THE AREA THAT THE WALLS TAKE UP? AND HOW DO I GET THE SCHEDULE FORMATTED LIKE THIS, WITH A SUBTOTAL FOR COVERED PLAY AREA?

I would use an area plan or plans. Revit comes with two area plan types defined. Gross and Rentable. In area plans these two types have rules that apply to them and you can have Revit automatically adjust your area line location based on these rules. Gross for instance places the area line at the exterior of the wall. Rentable adjusts the line locations based on BOMA standards. You can define your own are type plan in Revit. Doing so will result in a plan you simply have to place area lines in as the rules will no longer apply that are built-in to Revit/ Be sure to uncheck the apply rules box when placing area lines in these plans. To schedule like you want you may have to add a parameter (database field) to your schedule that you can sort and group on. Since Revit is a database it sorts and groups similar to other database applications. There are limits on formatting though and if you can live with these you can most likely accomplish what you want 100% inside of Revit. HTH Tom
