Look at you image (first image)... it says "Place Curtain System by Face", do you know what it is? NO, check the second and the third image i post, you see now... the only way to CREATE CURTAIN SYSTEM BY LINES is like i told you before, check the fourth and fifth image.

The traditional 2009 'Curtain System by Lines' was removed in 2010. It's just not there. However there are new tools that accomplish the exact same thing but even better.
1. Create an In-Place Mass form using linework. (ie: one set of lines on level 1 and one set on level 2. Curved or straight and multi-segmented too!).
2. Use Model by Face > 'Curtain System' to create the new curtain system based on the above 'Form'.
3.  And Curtain Grids and Mullions just like you used to.
The results are even better than the old Curtain System by Lines but just takes one extra step. (step 1)

thanks daryl-

notice how complicated this really is..

no more curtain systems by line with the ribbon

but still there with the classic UI and working- BUT

can't create model lines with classic unless switch

over to ribbon to create them and then back to work

with them in the classic for curtain system by lines..

LOL

remember all your great videos showing how to

create curtain systems by line using model lines?

Yup. The new ribbon was a curve ball (that didn't really cross the plate) to anyone who authors REVIT training material.

it's a good thing to remember that sofware is a

"system" design.. one small addition to the whole

system and something somewhere is likely to be

adversely affected.. there can never be any absolutely

perfect system created by anyone but God..

this is important to think about because modern

buildings are becoming more and more a complex

system..

Dafpfy-

if the word "God" is funny to you- just use

any word you like as a name for our perfect

solar system and how it got like that.. any

name is fine with me..

not that life isnt good to me, but its a sh*thole for a lot of people.

and even in my so called 'good' life, i m getting screwed by gouverments who pretend to care about the people and then screw them some more.

but i dont want to take this thread of topic Smile

Kind regards,

OMG daryl- you just made my dream come true..

i'm not fighting the ribbon- but we can all guess how it will be

radically changed for 2011- and i never wanted to learn it twice

when i already know the classic..

but the only problem with the classic has been the lack of model

lines- until now that you have given me this great idea: with the classic

i can create a generic model of just model lines.. WOW- it works-

i can't believe it..

now i can make curtain system by lines for real..

this also means if i don't like the new ribbon for 2011 and they are not

giving us the classic option- i can build my career around RAC 2010

with the classic UI- because i will always start a revit project with

design development and never open anyone elses revit file with

2010.. but who knows- maybe the ribbon for 2011 will be great..

now watch the trolls bash everything i said just because that's

their nature..

how do i get this whole curtain wall to move back

so the bottom mullion is flush with the edge of the

floor?

i can't get any type or instance properties on it..

and all i did was select the edge of the floor after

selecting the model line on top for the curtain wall

and then i added mullions.. how does it move?
