Here is my situation, I wanna make sure I get this right.

I have an overall plan at 1/16" scale to fit on a sheet.

I have it broken up into three sections: A, B, and C.

I want to design everything in the overall plan and have it update the other three but I don't want the other three to inherit the overall plan scale. I want them at 1/8" scale. Right now I have the three sections as duplicate but not as dependants so that the scales can be different but it wont draw what I put in the sections on the overall and vice versa.

Can someone tell me what I would do to set it up this way and I can verify with the way I have it and make sure I can get this sorted out please.

Model elements will update in all model views no matter what the sacle.  If you are adding 2D elements - drafting lines/ detail elements / filled regions / dimensions and notes - those are 2D, view specific elements.

If you do everything in one overall view,  you can window that view and select all 2D elements and paste them same  place in the other views.... BUT  ... this will not be an automatic process.

Ok thanks. How do you send the linked file to the back behind say the light fixtures I've drawn?

You can individually control items in linked files with hide in view or you can use the VG settings for the link to turn off entire categories in the link.

I got the depth views down for having my stuff show above the linked file.

My next problem is I can't get view planes to work to show a light under a cabinet. I set the view right and everything but nothing shows up. Fixture is on a workset that's turned on. I have yet to be able to get it to work.
