I have a project where I need several similar schedules with the same name (they are all scheduling equipment, but they need to be broken up by sheets). The problem I have is they all have to be called "Equipment Schedule", but schedule views don't have seperate "view name" and "title on sheet" parameters (unless I'm missing something). So, I just went into the charmap and found a blank, non-printing character and pasted it in the view name, once for the first schedule, twice on the second, ect.. Now Revit is happy that I have different view names, and everyone else is happy that what gets printed looks right.

Wow - how do you keep track of the schedules in your browser?

You can turn off the schedule name and then add text in paper space.

I don't sort them beyond their names, if that's what you are asking, and I can easily get away with doing that by not having very many in the project. I can see that being difficult with lots of schedules, but here I only have ~10. It hadn't occured to me to just add text on the sheet, but that's probably because I don't like doing that.
