It has been two years since I have touch Revit. Now it is at 2010 . I am creating a model of a residential structure. The trim/moulding around the doors/windows is a brown, wooden color. I need to change the color to reflect that the moulding is white. How do I do that?

Also I want to "paint" the walls. How do I change the color on the wall to reflect the actual color?

About the question of the "Trim/Moulding", is that created in the same family of the door? Pick in that, go to the properties and check if you have a instance or type parameter for that material then change for whatever you want.

About the "Paint" the wall, well you have the "Paint" tool to assign materials to the faces of the objects but you can assign materials directly to the "layers" of the wall when you go to properties of the wall and "Edit Structure" you can give the "Function, thickness and Material" for those layers....
