Attached is an image of the problem.  The roof is sloped and created this curved pattern from my model surface pattern set to 90.  Is there a way to fix this?  I have tried selecting a line in the pattern and rotating it that doesnt work.

Wierd, did you double check if this is a model pattern?

I have to modify sub elements and set the north points heights manually in order for the south edge points to remain level at 0,0.  When i do that the pattern skews.  Im not defining the slope by edge or using slope arrow. If i did the roof would slope but the north and south edges would tilt up.

The shape becomes parabolic and changes the pattern due to shape.  I was under the impression model surface patterns force the pattern onto the element at assigned angle regardless of shape.Edited on: Wed, Jan 27, 2010 at 5:08:21 PM

quinn...I know this thread ended a long time ago, but I was curious if you ever found a solution to the skewed / warped surface pattern problem you were having.  I am having the same trouble now in 2015.  Thanks.

The pattern is not warped, the surface is warped.   Parallel lines in 2D will not remain parallel in a 3D warp.

Draw parallel lines on a sheet of paper then roll it up into a cone and see what happens

There is a an option in properties that allows you to change how a surface pattern behaves according to its curved  surface.  Problem solved.
