Ok, bare with me if this gets long as I want to explain it in detail. Our company is a manufacturer--we build large HVAC pump packages. Basically it's just a steel mounted skid that contains pumps, piping, valves, control panels, etc. The key here is that it's a stand-alone product. We do not design HVAC systems for a building, facility, etc. We do not design the building (architecture), we are just a one-item product within a building's infrastructure/system.After studying Revit MEP 2010, instead of designing our skid mounted pump package from the ground up within Revit...I think it is more practical to import our autocad drawing into the family editor and make this pump package a family (component family or an in-place family).I have imported one of our packages within Revit in the family editor. Everything converted over fine. I can modify/add family parameters to this pump package (basic stuff) but what I am confused about and concerned about is the following...Connectors...In my autocad designed pump package we have 4 flanged inlet/outlets. These inlet/outlets is where the "other" Revit user is going to need to pipe up to our pump package family that I created. What do I need to do in order to have connections at these places? What I have attempted to do so far is that I created an extrusion (circle) the same diameter size of the flanged connection and extruded it maybe 1/16" of an inch and placed it at these locations. I don't know if this is right or wrong or is this cheating.

Again, I am very new to Revit. I just returned from a trip to Raleigh, NC on a 3 day course teaching REVIT MEP 2010 essentials last week. I also just finished reading the book "Revit Family Creation" by Ken Jolly. I've participated in some of the online courses taught by Autodesk "Ask Amy" and other stuff here and there. Just need to make this imported file able to be connected to for other Revit users who obtain our drawings. Any advice?????
