I am working in Revit Architecture 2010, but I think my question deals with Revit Structure. I am having trouble controlling the cut level of brace frames in plan. When I change the view range in plan, the cut plane changes, but the brace framing is not affected. I thought it was a link issue, but when I opened the structural revit model I noticed the same issue. The reason we need to have the brace frame cut at the correct level is so we don't show brace frames go across doors & opening. Any help is appreciated...

I was able to figure it out on my own: For a column family, you can select the option Show family pre-cut in plan views, in the Family Category and Parameters dialog. When you select this option and load the family into a project, the column displays in a plan view using the cut plane specified in the plan view of the family. - Open a column family or start a new column family.
- Click Create tab>Family Properties panel>Family Category and Parameters.
- In the Family Category and Parameters dialog, under Family Parameters, select or clear the parameter, Show family pre-cut in plan views.
