Hey,

Let me start by saying I am fairly advanced in Revit building, but this one has me stumped. For the columns in this building I have placed a structural column on the grid line and then, in a later phase, I have architectural columns placed on top of the structual columns.  The archiectural columns are the issue.  I modified the preloaded column family to contain detail components in plan views so that when we do blowup details, we won't have to draft over top. On the top level, everything is hunky dory, but on lower levels all the columns from all the levels above show up in the plan view.

I know it isn't a view range issue in the project, I beleive it is something in the Family itself.   all the detail components are set to  only show when the instance is cut, and the "show column precut in plan views" is unchecked, but It still is not working properly.

Has anyone run into this?  what am I missing?

 Thanks alot.

edit the family and under "Category and Parameters" deselect "Show Family pre-cut in plan views" option
