I must have changed my default settings for how the gypsum wallboard renders.  How can I restore the original rendering settings for this material?

Do you mean as a definition  or where you painted a different material?  For definitions, settings/materials.  Where you painted a material, re-paint with default.

The definition is changed. I changed the gypsum wallbaord feratures to render as paint only. I want to have the default textures and the gypsum wallboard restored.

Sorry... there is an out-of the box setting but once it is changed, there is no default to go back to.

Could you describe or do a screen shot of what the default settings are for the gypsum wallboard so I can manually change them?  All my rendering look very poor now. I tried several settings but I can not get the same result as the default material. I would really appreciate it.

Assuming you changed the GWB definition within your project (and not physically on your computer's hard drive by drilling down into the program files), all you have to do is start a new project (file>new) and transfer projects standards from your new project into your existing one (selecting the check box for materials). Have you tried this yet?

Also, in the future, it is a best practice to always make a duplicate of a material as you edit from a default setting. This way you always have the original available to you in case you need to refer back to it later in your project's development. (this is also helpful when creating any new internal content: walls, doors, line types, etc.)
