I've searched the forum and the web and have drawn a blank thus far.

I create beam systems using the "Maximum Spacing" Layout rule.  For example, I've created a Beam System of Bar Joists that are spaced at 2'-6" maximum spacing.  So, it turns out that the ACTUAL spacing is like 2'-5 1/16".  When I used the out of the box beam system tag, it says

18K6 @ 2'-5 1/16"

I want the tag to read

18K6 @ 2'-6" MAX.

How do I make that happen?  Is it possible?  I've tried using a Shared Parameter but . . . no luck.

I'm not sure this will work for you, but it's something to try. In the tag family edit the Centerline Spacing label. Click the parameter units button, uncheck "use project settings", and change the rounding to 1". Add "MAX" to the Suffix.

Pretty good trick!  I think that might just work!

Thanks!

This doesn't always work. Your spacing sometimes ends up that it will round down instead of up. Has anyone found how to put the maximum spacing parameter in instead of the centerline spacing?
