Does anyone know of a good reference book, videos, or web pages that shows in depth how to master Revit? With particular focus on creating powerful families & components? I am looking for one that can teach me in great detail ALL aspects of this topic. I am new to Revit 8.1, but I want to master all of its capabilities. I would prefer a book over anything else... and I hope that you only recommend materials that are truely good, and not ones you have just "heard" are good. thank you for any help. Once I get a strong handle on Revit, I will of course join the cause of helping other new users... but until then...

Trial and error and follow the tutorials....Plus look on the web and experiment with different componants. That is the best way to learn, plus if you have prior 3d CAD experience that is a plus!

Some links to books that I like: CDV Systems Courseware Books Check them out at www.cdvsystems.com (the "black book" of Revit. Cyril the author used to work for Revit B4 Autodesk) Official Autodesk Revit courseware available at http://estore.autodesk.com Choose “courseware” from the left menu. The Advanced covers family creation pretty well. Online tutorials: http://www.dgcad.com/Revit8.htm (have not personally viewed them, but another guy in the office is using them and seems to like) Autodesk University: http://www.autodeskevents.com/au2005/ (great learning and networking experience. This will be my third year and I have to pay for out of my own pocket. Great Revit gurus teach the classes, but the most popular families class is already full) HTH Tom
