Hey everyone!

New to the forum, but have been looking around the site for a while. I'm a plumbing designer/engineer with just one project worth of Revit experience (but at least over 15 years Autocad project experience!). My MEP firm uses 2009 Revit because the architects that we work with have not updated to 2010. But this is no big deal.

I just checked out today the family downloads for lavs, water closets and urinal fixtures and there are many that we spec (Kohler, etc.) but there is one thing that is missing on all of the fixtures.....NO CONNECTION POINTS!!!!!

I went to Kohlers website and downloaded all of their Revit files and not a single one has connection points. What good is this for me when I am trying to make a system and connect the cold, hot and sanitary piping to the fixtures?!? This is really frustrating. I realise they are pampering the architects, but now that Revit has MEP, can they throw us a bone?!

What I want to do is select a fixture, coordinate with the architect this fixture, then send the architect the Revit fixture so that when I get their Revit drawings, I can use the architectural fixture and not have to hide theirs and insert my own! This would save me a WHOLE lot of time and be a little easier to use Revit.

Anyone else had this headache or am I the only crazy one? I figure the best that I could do is download a fixture, then create the insertion points myself on that fixture and then give it to the architect. Shouldn't companies like Kohler do this for me? Are there any suggestions that I'm not thinking of? Creating connection points to a fixture took me a long time and I don't really know if I did it right either.

Any thoughts? Thanks everyone. I figure it's the architects fault, right! HA!
