I have created a new family using the "generic model" template. It therefore shows up in the project browser under: familys - generic models.
I want to change it so that it shows up in the casework category. Do I have to re-draw the component using the casework template? or is there a way to simply change its category so that it shows up in the project browser under casework?
yes, I am new to revit (obvious?)
thanks in advance for any help

You don't have to redraw it. Just select the object and edit the family. Once the family editor opens go to the settings drop down menu. In that menu click on "family categories and parameters.." and there you can change what category your family is in. Then click "load into project" and override the current family parameters.
