I'm having multiple issues in revit.  I'm using an office template for the first time created by a co-worker so i'm wondering if something went wrong with the set up.  I'm working in Architecture 2009.

The biggest problem I'm currently have is viewing upper casework in the floor plan.  I have the cut plane of the view range set at 3'6".  I have my upper casework (generically created from create in place component) at 4' start - 6' end, and it's showing up in the floor plan.  When I go to edit the compant (that is showing up in the floor plan) an area of the screen shows up light gray and no pink (draw) lines appear and I have to quit family edit.  If I change the view range cut plane to 7' then I can see the pink lines and edit with out any problem, but I still get a lighter gray area.

I'll attach a few print screans.  The first one shows my view range set up.  The second shows what happends when I try and edit the upper component (note the light grey area).  The third shows the element props of the create in place componant.

Please help.
