Can we make benching act like a wall or a floor in the sense that it can host other objects? Please suggest something...

I don't know what a benching is but have you looked at face based families?

Hi Hub, Actually my client is looking for families which can be hosted to furniture like bench, table etc. Would face based family allow me to do that? Thanks

If there is a flat face, a face based family will attach to it.... but this i so simple to try out. Just creat a test face base, box family and place it. You will see that they will attach to faces and tops of walls, tops and bottoms of counters etc, Place from a 3D view is best... especially bottom side objects like puck lights in cabinets.
