I have a sectional garage door that I need to add some trim to on the exterior.  What is the best  way  to  do it?

My advice is: open that Garage door family and create the "Trim" you need then save and load into project, IF you don't want that you can create that by "create in-place" in the category door.... BUT i use the first option...

Thanks for the advice.  Now for the even more stupid question.  How would I create the trim?   Its nothing more than a 6" wide X 1" deep trim around the outside of the door opening?

When you open that family you have the "Solid Sweep", create the path around the door then finish the path and create the profile with the shape you want, don't forget to add the "Material" parameter so in this way you can change the material in the project....
