i am using revit structucture and am newbie from this new software

how can i put the thickness of the slab to slab schedule? unlike column, beam and footing schedule, you can use edit family to share their demension properties to make them appear in the schedule but in slab i cannot do that, how can i make my slab thickness appear in my slab schedule?

please help me

thanks

Just add the Default thickness parameter for the slab into your schedule

thank you for the response but there is a problem, you cannot make the "default Thickness" shared. you will end up adding additional parameter and will name it as "default thickness" but its value is not attached to its real thickness.

its funny but i was able to answer this question after month of using revit (my company is still using autocad and if we are using revit, we're only using it for concept or preliminary design). there come a time that i need to produce schedule using revit and i just a minute ago i finally answered my own problem.

since V=At where V is volume, A is area and t is thickness, since you cannot find any shared thicknesses in slab property but its volume and area is shared, you are forced to use formula in calculated property to have thickness that will appear in your schedule and also sincronized in its properties

You can't get a thickness from variable, compound system families like floors, walls, ceilings and roofs.  But you can add a project parameter shared or not to these families.  It just will not be parametric.
