New to Revit.

My office bought Revit 2010 and I am learning it. Been on CAD for the last 11 years. In Revit I have done exterior walls, interior walls, doors, windows and storefronts. I am attempting to put a cast stone header over a window. The header needs to be 3-5/8" deep, 8" tall, 4'-8" long. What should I do or where in Revit can I read on how to do this?

Thanks for the advice.

Marc

Edit the window familie or make a wall based familie with only the header?

if that answers your question?

I would try to avoid making a in-place family on this one. If you know anything about modeling i.e. extrusions, sweeps, blends voids. Then just open the window family and make a extrusion or sweep to model the way you want the cast stone. I would also put this on a sub catergory with in the family so you can change materials and line work if need be.
