I am suffering from a major case of cognitive flatulence today, but hopefully someone has an answer. I have a profile for a backsplash in my worktable family, and I would like to be able to select the profile type from the project. I thought I could simply make the profile family shared, but that doesn't seem to be an option, and I don't see where to tie a parameter to the profile in the worktable family. What am I missing?

You actually used a profile family?  If so, just edit the family and load it into the project.

Yes, I used a profile family. It is loaded in the worktable family and the project. The backsplash profile is used in a sweep in the worktable family. What I want to be able to do is inside the project select a different profile for different sizes of backsplashes.

you cant change a profile in a family threw a project, you will have to change it in the family.

Ok, I must have been thinking of something slightly different. Thanks for the responses.

Ok, I have the new parameter created, but I'm not seeing where I need to go to actually tie it back to the sweep.

I suppose one could make the sweeps as their own families and then load them into you worktabble family. Then just apply the Family type parameter to the profiles.

This way you would be switching backsplash types rather than profiles.

and don't forget to constrain the nested sweep for length and height and whatever else is needed.

Thanks, that's probably what I'll end up doing.
